JAVIER MARTIN'S EXHIBITION AT THE SEOUL MUSEUM

Selected works from His Blindness series are on display in Asia

Artworks by the young and talented Spanish artist Javier Martin are now exhibited at the Seoul Museum in Korea.

A carefully curated selection of his Blindness series artworks, which has dominated the interest of Asian audiences, will be in display at the Seoul Museum until September 16th.

BLINDNESS

In Martin's prominent  Blindness collection, the eyes reflect emotions. They’re always concealed, either behind a vibrant stroke of paint or a glowing neon light. With painting and collage, he reproduces images of seemingly perfect models, symbols of a standard of beauty and lifestyle that most people long to enjoy. Inspired by the juxtaposition between the grit of city surroundings and the glossy ads that line them, the artist deconstructs this perceived perfection to create a contrast between technology, collage and painting.

JAVIER MARTIN

Martin is a multidisciplinary artist who bases his creative exploration on the careful observation of his surroundings, detecting semiotic relationships that might otherwise go unnoticed to an unreceptive viewer. He has equally experimented in painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and video art.
