Guelfenbein’s (1953) aesthetic is inspired by his nomadic lifestyle, sensibilities and Chilean blood. He has held numerous successful exhibitions around the world; his works evoke a sense of power and trepidation shrouded in the vitality of thickly applied color strokes.


His soulful liquid abstractions and thick acrylic textured canvases reveal a process of discovery of infinite patterns and forms that much resemble a cosmic creation. Light refracts strongly with contrasting gestural strokes, liquid transformations and twisting patterns, and a full color palette.
