Laca's work was professionally exhibited for the first time at age 17, at the Maison des Arts de Laval. The young, contemporary artist he explains his introduction to art, “One day, two of my professors noticed me and introduced me to art. It was a revelation. To draw. To paint. Finally, I could be. Pure fantasy. I have been practicing ever since. […] and intend on going on for a very, very long time!”

In 2002, he was awarded the City of Laval Culture Prize and selected by painter Marc Seguin to showcase his work in the group exhibition "Generation Montreal" featuring bright local young artists.
Laca is Canadian born and based in Quebec and his work is held in public and private art collections across Canada, the US, China, Australia, the UK, Norway, Spain, Germany and Israel.

He births oil paintings that use texture and abstractions, flirting with the conventional perception of portraiture. His pantheon of subjects includes anything from vague everyday heroes to famous personalities such as Alberto Giacometti, Vincent Van Gogh and Albert Eistein, to name a few.

In his works, a feel of meticulous, well-thought artistic inventiveness. While he selects these icons to pay tribute to them, Laca’s monstrous impasto and volatile spatters give the impression that the image is under attack. The outcome is quite disruptive yet invigorating; an interesting approach to existential vanity.
